New Rule Regarding Female Players

Due to popular opinion, there will no longer be a rating bonus for using females in your lineup beginning with the upcoming season. In past seasons, using one female resulted in a team being allowed to use a lineup rated up to 2410, instead of the usual 2400. This rule has been eliminated for 2009 and onward.

While we want to encourage female participation, many did not feel that to be an appropriate way of doing so. However, in order to continue to try to do so, from this point on each team will be able to have a nine player roster, instead of the regular eight player roster - with the only stipulation being that to qualify for the nine player roster, they must have at least one female on the main roster.

  1. This is a good rule, however I feel we aught to figure out a way to test whether a player is male or female to avoid misrepresentation. Also, I'm aware of at least one instance, ( USCF member) where a player went from being male to female due to sex change operation.

  2. Any kind of rule that benefits a team for using a female is not the way the league should work- it discriminates. Just because all the members on one team happen to have dongs, they should have one less player? It makes no sense.

  3. I think it discriminstes against woeman, because it labels them inferiot to men. As in --you cant make a regular spot, we will allocate a special place for the weaker sex. Its sexist! Whats next, a special spot for gays??

  4. maybe a special spot for retarded people who can’t spell?
But seriously, let’s have a “one asshole” rule: teams have one designated “asshole” who has free rein to randomly insult other team’s players, managers, past performance, mother’s etc., with no temperance, rationality or truth requirement. Any other team member doing so will be fined and forced to publicly apologize, both in writing and on Utube.

  5. I must say I like Elizabeth's idea. I would like to volunteer to be the San Francisco Asshole.

  6. I think Elizabeth's rule is ridiculous! It's completely discriminatory to the Boston team!

  7. Being the San Fransisco Asshole sounds like an especially demanding job, Sam. You might want to leave it for someone older and more experienced.

  8. Instead of discussing the new rule regarding female players Elizabeth, as always, steered the topic into complete absurdity.

  9. I think each team should get an extra slot provided that it fills that slot with a player who was actually born in the United States.

  10. Maybe we should also require teams to check all players for their US citizenship. Seriously, why such dumbass ideas???

  12. If you have a dumbass female, do you get two extra spots?

  13. Liz and some of these anonymous peeps should run the league! SF would dominate! By their rule we could get a huge roster- since our entire team was born in the united states, wed get a lot of extra spots, and we have a dumbass female in GM Josh Friedel so there's even 2 more. You would need a scrollbar on the Sf roster site to see everyone!
